Dream Board: My Short- and Long-term Goals in Pictures

May 5, 2016

a collage of my short- and long-term goals

We live in a world where success is often defined by material things. Okay, so I guess we rely on technology for the most part, although I must say that it isn't the sole basis to survive. To me, happiness and self-fulfillment are the true essence of a well-lived life.

As a child, I’ve been somehow programmed to follow a certain “pre-made path” to ensure a "successful" life. Graduate college, get a job, climb the corporate ladder, follow the rules, have a family and all that. Even up to now, I’m still struggling to defy these odds. I’m done with the graduating part, but right now, I’m still having a hard time complying with the rest.

And so, as part of staying positive and believing in my own dreams, I made a collage of my short and long term goals to remind me everyday that I shouldn’t give up on them. (I printed them out and posted it on my board. Lol.)

Obviously, this isn’t the entirety of my goals. Dream big, right? Apparently, you can’t put them altogether in one picture because I might need a billboard for that. But basically, this is the gist of it. As you can see, my short term goals can also be classified as my ‘wants’. These are the things that I should be able to achieve at a smaller amount of time (and money). I just have to start with the small, achievable things like renewing my closet, investing on a good camera, enhancing my callig skills, etc. before going into the bigger goals such as travelling, opening my own book café, having my dream car and home.

For now, I have these general plans to achieve them by taking the little steps first and work with what I have right now. Just like my financial plan (which I am religiously following, yay!), I hope I could turn these dreams into reality, too.

So I must keep myself inspired and focused!

How about you guys? What is in your dream board? I’d like to hear ‘em out.

  1. I'll surely visit your book café I even dream of having one, too. Well, for the love of coffee and books. Ahh, the feels! My heart is so happy just by the thought of it. Keep on trying and doing your best to achieve your goals! You'll achieve each one of them. :)
