The Diary Queen: Happy List, Vol. 02

If you know me personally or have been following me on Twitter or have read my personal posts in the past, you probably have an idea on how messed up my life was. Same reason why I haven't done this blog series for months.

Mostly, I dealt with depression and anxiety, and spent most nights crying myself to sleep. I was /-THIS-/ close to giving up a month ago. The month of August (and even the ones before that) was a whirlwind of emotions for me and I'm actually quite surprised I made it through. I would not divulge into the details since everything seems to be going well already and I don't wanna ruin that anymore.

But right now, as I'm working my way back up again, I'd like to thank all the people who helped me get through this phase. You guys know who you are.

And with that, here's a list of the things I'm grateful for/life update:

  • I resigned a month ago and began "soul-searching", started applying 2 weeks later, and here I am, on my first week in my new job. And so far, this career shift has been one of the greatest decisions I've done. I've never felt happier about taking the leap.
  • I'm in better terms with the people whom I drifted apart with and it's like a huge pile of rocks has been lifted off my chest.
  • Getting back to my passion project Écrire. I actually finished a few works on canvass panels and gave them out to friends. I know it still needs a lot of practicing, but don't worry, I'm working on it. If you do have comments, please let me know so I can further improve them. Hihi, thanks!
  • Josh got hospitalized a few weeks ago, so I had a spontaneous weekend trip to Baguio to take care of him. He was confined for a few days but he's all better now.

  • The following weekend, I got sick, too. Haha! Anyway, I'm just thankful that we're both feeling okay already.
  • Last September 4 marks my 23rd month with him... which means we'll be celebrating our 2nd anniversary in a month!!! ♥
  • My cousins and I successfully organized a decent jungle-themed baby shower for our Ate despite the limited time and budget for the preps.

  • Our Hong Kong trip next week!!! Starting to plan what to pack, what to wear. Kinda excited because it's my first time to go to Disneyland! YAAAAAS~ And expect that I'd blabber about this soon. HAHA.
  • I recently collaborated with Pawtography PH (read post here). Looking forward to doing projects with more brands! I'm currently working on another collab so yaaay *crossing my fingers*. Here's to more blogging opportunities!
  • And lastly, I was lucky to be one of the grand prize winners of ShopBack PH's Win a Wish Blogging Contest, which means I get to pick one from my wishlist worth <10,000 and I'm choosing that Daniel Wellington watch. Heehee.
So far, everything's still on track... which scares me a bit because I'm not used to this kind of lifestyle. I'm afraid that it would all be taken away in a snap. That's me. I overthink. Like, a lot. But I also realized that sometimes, I just have to let things be. So I'll just enjoy this moment and work on this happier version of me.

P.S. Thank You. ;-)

What are the things that you're thankful for?

  5. Hi there! It's my first time here. Depression is an illness that slowly kills an individual and Im glad you fought with it. I still continue to fight with it with the help of counseling and art therapy thus Im attending various workshops. Anyway in your comment you asked for the price of the one on one floral painting workshop. It costs 3,500 but totally worth the money :)

I love your calligraphy. I'm still working on mine. I still get rough edges and blot inks. That jungle-themed baby shower is creative and resourceful.

Looking forward to more of your happy list blog series. <3

    1. Hi, Jean! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and browse around my blog. Hehe. It means so much to me that there are people out there who understand. And I'm glad you're taking steps to overcome yours, too! :)

I still get rough edges and blots too! I haven't had any professional training/workshop and I'm still learning all by myself, but thank you for appreciating my work and effort. <3 Haha!

It makes me happy that you guys are enjoying this. Maybe I'll add that on my next list. :P Haha. See you around, Jean!
