Fresh and Naturally RRAW

Natural and locally-made beauty products will always have a special place in my heart (and in my stash). With all the beauty products dominating the market, I am a firm believer that nothing beats all our skincare problems better than nature itself.

RRAW is a local-based beauty brand catering to the needs of Filipinas through organic, sustainable and cruelty-free body care alternatives. They have a variety of products ranging from hair care, body scrubs, make-ups, moisturizers, soaps, serums and toners which you may check out here.

RRAW Coffee Date Whipped Body Frosting
This product works as a body scrub, body polish, whipped soap and shaving cream all rolled into one tub of goodness. The Whipped Body Frosting has a mousse-like texture that turns into a creamy lather which gently exfoliates but also leaves your skin soft and supple. I got mine in Coffee Date variant, which I swear, smells like your creamy morning coffee! It's like your in-shower body lotion but better!

I'm on my 2nd week of using this body frosting, and I think it'll last more than a month for me since a little products goes a very long way. I was actually torn between getting this or the First Date Frosting because of its color (the one that's unicorn-inspired), but the espresso scent of this one really sealed the deal for me. Although I'd still want to try the other variants on my next purchase.

RRAW Everest Clay Mask
RRAW has five different clay masks, each catering to a specific need and/or skin type. My face is generally oily, so I went for this Everest Clay Mask which claims to remove toxins and deeply detoxify skin.

As per RRAW's and other people's suggestions, you may mix it with water, Apple Cider Vinegar, milk, honey or yogurt. (Warning: my face reacted on ACV so I had to rinse it off immediately then put on some Aloe Vera gel to soothe my skin. It's better if you try it on the back of your hand first to see if you'll react. What doesn't work for me may work for you so feel free to experiment.) I also tried mixing it with honey and water, but I think the water mixture works best for me. I leave it for about ~5 to 10 minutes then rinse it off with water, then proceed to my usual skincare (cleanse, tone, moisturize).

The Everest Clay Mask leaves a stain on your face, so I always double-cleanse and use my pore cleaning brush to remove all residues. Another warning: It can stain your sink, too, so please be extra careful and don't forget to scrub them afterwards so your mom won't get mad about the black marks on the sink. 😂  I'm not sure if that's also the case with their other variants. It can be a little tedious and I may have judged it on my first use, but I decided to give it more chances and I'm really glad I did! I noticed the changes  on my skin after 4 uses and I can't wait to try their Moroccan and Mediterranean Clay Masks!

Peppermint & Ocean Raw Bar
Peppermint & Ocean Raw Bar 2
I am a huge fan of organic soaps. Love how they don't go overboard with the scent, get rid of chemical ingredients and are very suitable even to the most sensitive skins!

The Peppermint Raw Bar is specifically for oily skin, so I use it on my face. It has a mint-y smell (probably because of the actual mint leaves lol), and gives off a fresh feeling after washing my face. The Ocean Raw Bar, on the other hand, targets acnes/bacnes. It contains Pink Himalayan and Sea Salt which claims to be effective in removing dead skin, so I use this as a body soap. It does have a faint smell which I can't pinpoint but I like it just the way it is. There are no significant changes as of the moment but I'll keep you posted once I finish these soap bars.

Oil & Acne Herb Facial Serum
WHAT??? An oil-based serum for my already oily face??? Yup, that's what I thought, too. But contrary to popular notion, applying facial oils does not equate to clogging our pores or making it even oilier. And upon trying this serum for more than a week, I'm now a believer! A little amount goes a long way, so every night, I just put 3 to 4 drops of this serum on my face while massaging it in an upward motion.

According to RRAW, it contains vitamins and antioxidants that fight damages from UV rays and acne-causing bacteria. I noticed how my skin got less oilier lately (maybe the peppermint soap helped, too). Not sure if I can attribute the lessening of my acnes too, but it does plump up and moisturize my skin overnight so let's see how it goes as I finish this up.

RRAW Philippines
Overall, I'm impressed with the products that I got. I did not have any breakouts, which means they're working well with my skincare routine. I'll definitely repurchase most of them and I'm excited to try new ones, because I swear, their products are very promising! RRAW certainly did not disappoint when it comes to meeting expectations. The variety of their products and how they specifically target certain skin problems and concerns are few of the things to love about them.

And here's another cool thing about RRAW: upon check out, you get to have an option to add a certain amount as a donation to their chosen animal shelter this Christmas.  They're not just cruelty-free, but pet-friendly, too! 🐶 🐱
